Brief History of the Maritime Volunteer Service

The Maritime Volunteer Service is a unique charity in the non-profit sector and having started with nothing but enthusiasm, the Maritime Volunteer Service now has over 500 members in more than 30 Units around the coasts and estuaries of the United Kingdom. Each unit meets weekly for classroom training which is put into practice afloat on other evenings and at weekends using a range of craft from dories, through launches, powerful RIBs to offshore training ships.

We are totally self-funding and rely on donations from individuals, other organisations and fund raising to achieve our aims.
